This family desperately wanted to redesign their tiered garden and breathe some life back into it. Over time it had turned into a space that they wouldn't utilise, due to it not being at all inviting or visually attractive. They wanted to create a space that encouraged seating outside, and also allowed for lots of planting and greenery - to offset the grey concrete walls that were there before.
The goal of this garden was to effectively maximise the available space while providing a visually stunning and dynamic garden experience. The design incorporates multiple terraces to allow for a good vantage point of the view to the sea. We formed retaining walls out of natural stone, to lighten up the area in contrast to the pre existing grey concrete. These walls also serve as vertical planting areas, allowing for the inclusion of a diverse range of plants and enhancing the overall visual interest of the garden.
Within the newly created space there are multiple seating areas to encourage socialisation outside. A circular seat was formed in the bottom wall with a fire pit stationed in the middle, which itself has a lid to double as a drinks table. On the top layer is a pergola with an outside table where the family can enjoy BBQs and meals outside in the summer.
